Job Purpose
We are seeking a senior professional to lead the development and delivery of middle- and back-office solutions for our Real Estate (RE)-focussed private equity firms, alternative asset managers, and institutional investors.
The role will combine client relationship management, solution design, business development support, operational oversight, and team leadership. The successful candidate will help prospective clients evaluate their operating models and design scalable, technology-enabled solutions across fund operations, investor reporting, portfolio monitoring, accounting, operations, and FP&A.
Key Responsibilities
ü Service Areas: The candidate must have good working knowledge of several of the following:
- Investor reporting and investor relations support
- Portfolio and asset management reporting
- Management reporting and portfolio monitoring
- Fund administration and fund accounting
- Property and real estate accounting
- Fund management and operating company accounting
- FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Capital calls, distributions, allocations, and waterfall calculations
- NAV and financial statement support
- Cash management, reconciliations, and data controls
- Process transformation and automation
ü Client Solutions and Business Development
- Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their business needs, operating models, processes, and service requirements.
- Lead client discovery sessions, partner with sales, operations, technology, finance, and transition team to develop tailored and commercially viable solutions.
- Support RFPs/RFIs, proposals, client presentations, and identify opportunities for cross-selling and expanding services across existing client relationships.
ü Delivery and Transition Oversight
- Provide subject-matter oversight for the delivery of middle- and back-office services, support the resolution of complex accounting, reporting, data, and operational issues.
- Ensure that client deliverables meet agreed service levels, quality standards, and control requirements.
- Monitor operational risks, service issues, exceptions, and key performance indicators.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardization, automation, and efficiency across service delivery.
- Oversee onboarding and transition of new clients, funds, portfolios, or processes.
- Support the development of transition plans, process documentation, operating procedures, control matrices, and governance frameworks.
ü Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop team leaders, accountants, analysts, and operations professionals.
- Define team structures, responsibilities, performance expectations, and escalation mechanisms.
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, training, succession planning, and performance management.
ü Technology and Tools
- Fund accounting and administration: Yardi, Workiva, Investran, eFront, Allvue, FIS, MRI, Geneva, Advent, SS&C, or similar systems
- Market and investment databases: Preqin, PitchBook, Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv/LSEG Workspace, DealCloud, or Dynamo
- Reporting and analytics: Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, workflow tools, reconciliation platforms, and reporting automation solutions
- CRM and client management: Salesforce or equivalent platforms
Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline, along with CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, MBA or equivalent qualification.
- 12–14 years of experience in alternative investments, fund administration, investment operations, accounting, asset servicing, or a related field (supporting RE-focussed PE firms and asset managers)
- 5–6 years of experience managing teams and leading client-facing engagements.
- Experience working with global clients or in a multi-location delivery environment, supporting business development, RFPs/RFIs, solution design, proposals, or client implementations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage team deliverables, multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- High attention to detail, ownership, and commitment to quality, with ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
