1. Job Summary
Harsha College of Nursing, Harsha Institutions, invites applications from qualified and experienced nursing professionals for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor in Community Health Nursing.
The selected candidate will be responsible for classroom teaching, community-based clinical training, student mentoring, academic planning, research, assessment, and departmental activities. The faculty member will contribute to quality nursing education with emphasis on community health, public health nursing, health promotion, disease prevention, and primary healthcare.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct effective classroom teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in Community Health Nursing.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, seminars, case studies, group discussions, and other academic activities.
- Plan and supervise students during community health nursing clinical postings.
- Guide students in community surveys, family health assessments, home visits, health education, school health programmes, and community-based interventions.
- Supervise students in primary healthcare centres, community health centres, sub-centres, schools, rural and urban community settings, and other assigned clinical areas.
- Train students in community assessment, family nursing, epidemiological concepts, health promotion, disease prevention, and community-based nursing care.
- Guide students in conducting health camps, awareness programmes, screening activities, and community outreach programmes.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, question papers, and assessment tools.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, community clinical evaluations, and other academic assessments.
- Monitor student attendance, academic performance, clinical competency, and professional conduct.
- Provide academic mentoring and counselling to students.
- Maintain accurate academic, clinical, community posting, attendance, examination, and departmental records.
- Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty development programmes.
- Encourage students to participate in research, community projects, health awareness programmes, conferences, and professional activities.
- Undertake research related to community health, public health, epidemiology, health promotion, disease prevention, and nursing practice.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, community-based studies, presentations, and academic publications, as applicable.
- Develop and maintain professional coordination with community health centres, hospitals, schools, NGOs, and other community-based organizations.
- Participate in institutional outreach programmes and community health initiatives.
- Support accreditation, inspection, quality improvement, and institutional documentation activities.
- Promote professional ethics, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and responsible community nursing practices among students.
- Perform other academic, clinical, and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Principal / HOD / Management.
3. Academic & Professional Qualifications
- M.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic M.Sc. Nursing with specialization in Community Health Nursing from a recognized institution.
- B.Sc. Nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council, as applicable.
- Candidates should possess the required teaching and clinical experience prescribed for the respective designation by applicable regulatory and University norms.
- Candidates applying for Associate Professor / Professor should meet the required academic qualifications and teaching experience for the respective position.
- Ph.D. in Nursing will be an added advantage for senior academic positions.
- Strong knowledge of community health nursing, public health, epidemiology, primary healthcare, health promotion, disease prevention, and community-based nursing practice.

6. Responsibilities by Designation
Assistant Professor
- Conduct classroom and community clinical teaching as assigned.
- Supervise students during community health nursing postings.
- Guide students in home visits, family health assessments, community surveys, and health education.
- Conduct student assessments and maintain academic and clinical records.
- Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
- Participate in departmental research and institutional/community outreach activities.
Associate Professor
- Undertake advanced classroom and community clinical teaching responsibilities.
- Coordinate academic and community clinical activities within the department.
- Guide student research projects and support faculty development.
- Participate in curriculum planning, research, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and coordinate community outreach and health promotion programmes.
- Assist the HOD in departmental academic and administrative activities.
Professor
- Provide academic and professional leadership within the Community Health Nursing department.
- Lead academic planning, curriculum development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide faculty members and students.
- Supervise research and postgraduate academic activities, as applicable.
- Establish and strengthen community partnerships and outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to accreditation, institutional development, research collaborations, and strategic academic initiatives.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
