Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements (CSRs), and applicable statutory and regulatory standards.
- Lead and manage APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA activities for new product development and existing production programs.
- Monitor and control the quality of cast and machined automotive components to meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Lead customer complaint handling, including root cause analysis, 8D problem-solving, and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive defect reduction and PPM improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Plan, support, and coordinate process audit, product audit, internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, dock audits, layered process audits (LPA), and third-party certification audits (IATF, ISO).
- Analyze quality data, trends, and KPIs to identify gaps and implement data-driven improvement actions.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing scrap, rework, and rejection costs.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure robust quality controls and process stability.
- Support supplier quality management, including supplier evaluation, development, performance monitoring, and corrective action follow-up.
- Ensure effective documentation, traceability, and compliance across quality systems and processes.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in IATF 16949 core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
- Hands-on experience with casting and machining processes in the automotive industry.
- Proficient in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why Analysis, and Fishbone (Ishikawa).
- Solid understanding of dimensional controls, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
- Experience in audit management and customer interactions, including OEMs.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE / BTech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Automotive Quality (Tier-1 / Tier-2 preferred)
- Prior exposure to export OEM customer requirements is a strong advantage
