Jacobs is seeking an Engineering Manager - Protection and Control to support a range of high-profile projects across our Power & Energy portfolio , the primary responsibilities would be:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Define and drive the Protection & Control (P&C) engineering vision and strategy aligned with business objectives
Lead regional/global engineering capability development for substations and renewable energy projects
Support business development, proposals, and client engagement for strategic opportunities
Build and expand key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
Identify market trends, digital opportunities, and innovation areas (Digital Substations, Grid Modernization)
Technical Authority & Governance
Act as Principal Design owner for Protection & Control systems up to 400/765kV
Establish and govern engineering standards, design frameworks, and quality benchmarks
Provide technical oversight for:
Protection SLDs and system philosophies
Schematics (Line, Transformer, Busbar, SVC, etc.)
Relay coordination and settings
Approve critical engineering deliverables including IFC drawings and design reviews
Drive IEC 61850 digital substation adoption and best practices
People Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a large multi-disciplinary P&C engineering team
Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and collaboration
Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building
Attract and retain top engineering talent
Promote continuous learning, digital upskilling, and knowledge sharing
Global Collaboration & Digital Enablement
Lead collaboration with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams
Drive standardization and global delivery models across geographies
Champion digital engineering tools, automation, and data-driven design
Promote use of advanced engineering platforms (AutoCAD, MicroStation, DIGSI, PCM600, ETAP, etc.)
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as senior client interface, managing strategic relationships globally
Lead high-level technical discussions and project reviews
Ensure proactive resolution of complex client issues and escalations
Strengthen Jacobs’ reputation through technical excellence and delivery reliability

Here's what you'll need
About you
Qualifications
BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech Electrical
Minimum 13+ years of experience in protection & control field (Substation experience up to 400/765kV is desirable)
Mandatory Skill Sets:
Deep expertise in Protection & Control design and engineering lifecycle
Strong understanding of international standards and grid codes (UK, USA, ME, India, Australia, etc.)
Experience in Digital Substations (IEC 61850) and modern grid technologies
Strong commercial acumen with understanding of project financials and risk management
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Expertise in tools: AutoCAD, MicroStation, DIGSI, PCM600, EnerVista (ETAP/Python preferred)
Proven ability to lead large teams and complex global projects
