- Component Testing: Evaluate and test electronic components and circuit boards (PCBs) to ensure they meet specifications.
- Diagnostic Work: Use testing equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to troubleshoot faulty units.
- Prototype Assembly: Assist in building and soldering initial hardware prototypes for evaluation.
Design and Development Support
- Schematic and Layout Assistance: Help senior engineers create schematics and assist in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout design using CAD software.
- Simulation: Run basic circuit simulations (e.g., using SPICE) to test theoretical designs before physical manufacturing.
- Firmware/Software: Write, modify, or test embedded software and scripts to control hardware components.
Documentation and Reporting
- Technical Writing: Draft test plans, generate diagnostic reports, and maintain design specification data.
- BOM Management: Help track and update Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring components are available, cost-effective, and not obsolete.
- Process Documentation: Keep accurate logs of testing data and equipment calibration to comply with industry quality standards.
- Team Collaboration
- Cross-functional Tasks: Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and software teams to ensure hardware and software integrate seamlessly.
