This role is responsible for the whole scope of site works from site mobilization to final acceptance followed by site close out. The Site Manager serves as a member of the Project Team, with accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery (schedule) and Cost (including Statutory Labor compliances)- SQDC, for all jobsite activities in line with the contractual obligations of the project keeping GE Vernova Code of conduct at the center of what we do.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Represent the Project and the Organization towards customers, partners, subcontractors, and local authorities on site and lead all site activities performed by the organization, consortium partners (if applicable) and subcontractors through a proper Daily Management System – DMS
(word “daily” to be understood as Daily, Weekly, Bi- weekly, monthly, and so on, as applicable based on nature of work).
2. Responsible for the whole scope of site works from site mobilization to final acceptance followed by site close out by upholding the GE Vernova code of conduct in all actions.
3. Assumes accountability for Safety, schedule (Delivery), Quality and Cost (including RA bill/ and other cash collection [ SQDC ] for all jobsite activities in line with the contractual obligations of the project including the statutory labor compliances as per applicable labor act/laws.
4. Lead a team of site engineers and managers and ensure that direct reports are properly trained and receive the support needed to perform their duties. Coordinate support from PCCM and Head office, as needed.
5. Accountable for implementing the organization’s EHS Policy and Management Systems at the site, and for ensuring that established rules, safe working practices, and local laws and regulations are adhered, mentioning roles and responsibilities of Site Manager. Report all accidents, near misses and deviations and non-compliances with the applicable Safety directives to stakeholders defined.
6. Ensure adherence to zero tolerance policy towards Life Saving Rules laid down by GE Vernova at all times to achieve mission of zero fatality.
7. Implement remedial measures to reduce or eliminate unsafe acts and conditions. This responsibility also includes informing, instructing and ensuring site staff training in safer methods of work and investigating eventual accidents.
8. Manage the RFI process (TQ – Technical Query List ) with site subcontractors and ensure issuance of proper TIR’s (Technical Issue resolution) in MTA, if required, to obtain additional information, document additional cost or delay, or initiate back charges to sub-contractor’s.
9. Implementation of DMS- Daily management system, Nonconformance cost (NCC ) and Cost Of Poor Quality (CoPQ) at site.
10. Ensure all work is constructed in accordance with quality assurance plan, standard, codes and good industry practice.
11. Liaison with Project Construction & Commissioning Manager (PCCM) to establish construction philosophy to ensure maximization of project profitability within safety , environmental and quality parameters, including construction techniques, industrial relation philosophy and local subcontracting / fabrication opportunities.
12. Manage and implement the construction plans, programs, resource plans and P & M.
13. Monitor and manage subcontractor performance up to project close out, including warranty obligations, to drive fulfillment of subcontractor commitments, achieve proactive risk and opportunity management, provide accurate representation of status, and address non-conformance issues with corrective strategies. Keep functional management and the Project Team informed of status, performance implications and recommended actions. Encourage the team to drive continuous improvements and lean construction methodologies through out the project.
14. Lead by example in terms of enthusiasm commitment and work ethics in the performance of / duties as a site manager.
15. Maintain Customer and other stakeholder relationship for smooth execution of site activities.
16. Other duties and responsibilities that will be entrusted by C&C leadership from time to time in relation to execution of the project.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, having atleast between 15 to 20 years of execution experience in construction field with atleast, 2 years of experience in leading site team as Site Manager.
