Job Summary:
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical equipment and devices used in the hospital. The role ensures that all medical equipment functions safely, efficiently, and in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair medical devices and instruments.
- Install, test, and calibrate new biomedical equipment.
- Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and equipment history sheets.
- Coordinate with vendors for AMC/CMC services and equipment repairs.
- Ensure proper functioning of ICU, OT, Radiology, Laboratory, and ward equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks of medical devices.
- Assist departments in handling and operating biomedical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, safety, and biomedical standards.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and maintenance tools.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdown complaints and emergencies.
- Support biomedical audits and documentation processes.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Instrumentation.
Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hospital biomedical equipment maintenance preferred.
- Freshers may also apply.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of biomedical equipment and troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital protocols.
