As a pharmacist, your educational background includes a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B-Pharma) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D-Pharma). The key responsibilities associated with this role are as follows:
1. Proven experience as a pharmacist:
· Demonstrating previous experience working as a pharmacist, either in a retail pharmacy, hospital, or other healthcare settings.
· Applying knowledge and expertise in pharmaceuticals and medication management.
2. Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc.:
· Possessing a comprehensive knowledge of dosage forms, drug administration techniques, drug interactions, and contraindications.
· Familiarity with different chemical compounds, generic and brand names, and their specific uses.
3. Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems:
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for documentation, record-keeping, and data analysis.
· Familiarity with Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) used for managing inventory, patient profiles, and dispensing medication.
4. Good organizing skills:
· Demonstrating effective organizational skills to manage inventory, maintain records, and ensure proper storage and disposal of medications.
· Prioritizing tasks and managing workload efficiently.
5. Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach:
· Communicating effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to provide accurate information and advice on medications.
· Demonstrating empathy, active listening, and clear communication to address patient needs and concerns.
6. Integrity and compassion:
· Adhering to ethical standards and maintaining patient confidentiality.
· Showing compassion and empathy towards patients, considering their well-being and safety.
7. Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology:
· Holding a degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology from a recognized institution.
· Acquiring in-depth knowledge of pharmacology, drug action, therapeutic uses, and pharmacokinetics.
8. Valid license to practice the profession:
· Obtaining a valid license or registration to practice pharmacy in the relevant jurisdiction.
· Complying with legal and regulatory requirements governing pharmacy practice.
