Job Summary:
The Assistant Accountant will support the Accounts Department in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations
- Assist in maintaining day-to-day accounting records and financial transactions.
- Prepare and process payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and journal entries.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly.
- Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents before processing payments.
Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and updated accounting records.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and statements.
- Organize and maintain financial files and documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Taxation & Compliance
- Assist in GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Support the preparation and filing of tax returns and regulatory reports.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
Audit Support
- Assist during internal, statutory, and tax audits.
- Prepare required documentation and schedules for auditors.
- Ensure proper maintenance of audit-related records.
ERP & Data Management
- Enter and update accounting data in Tally ERP/ERP software.
- Generate reports as required by management.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Administrative Support
- Coordinate with vendors, banks, and internal departments regarding financial matters.
- Assist in payroll processing and reimbursement activities.
- Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Com / M.Com from a recognized university.
- Additional certification in Accounting, Tally, GST, or Finance will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 1–4 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Freshers with strong accounting knowledge may also apply.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, Busy, or other accounting software.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic taxation.
- Strong command of MS Excel and MS Office applications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
