Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Core Process Operations (Hydrogenation & Distillation)
- Reactor Operation: Safely handle and operate high-pressure Hydrogenation autoclaves/reactors.
- Catalyst Handling: Safely charge and handle sensitive pyrophoric catalysts (such as Palladium on Carbon (Pd/C), Raney Nickel, etc.) under strict inert/nitrogen blanketing conditions.
- Parameter Monitoring: Closely monitor, record, and control critical process parameters (CPPs) like reactor temperature, pressure, gas uptake, and agitation speed.
- Unit Operations: Oversee associated unit operations including high-vacuum distillation, solvent recovery columns, centrifugation, crystallization, and powder processing area (Drying, Milling, Sifting) operations.
2. Automation & Systems
- DCS & Instrumentation: Operate processes using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) where applicable, responding quickly to alarms or deviations.
- ERP Documentation: Complete real-time data entries and raw material accounting in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software as per plant practices.
3. cGMP & Documentation
- BMR/BPR Compliance: Fill and maintain Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Batch Production Records (BPR) online with high accuracy and neatness.
- Logbooks: Maintain equipment logbooks, cleaning checklists, and shift-handover registers.
- SOP Adherence: Strictly follow valid Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, line clearance, and cleaning validation.
4. Safety & Housekeeping
- Hazard Control: Maintain a high level of safety awareness due to the hazardous, high-pressure nature of hydrogenation and flammable solvents.
- PPE Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements on the shop floor.
- Housekeeping: Ensure the block and equipment remain clean and organized according to 5S or internal plant housekeeping standards.
