About the Role
We are looking for a Planning Engineer with 3–10 years of experience to join our project team in Madurai. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, progress tracking, reporting, and coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered within the planned time, cost, and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of project planning, Primavera P6/MS Project, progress monitoring, resource planning, and project reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project schedules, baseline programs, and execution plans.
- Prepare WBS, activity schedules, logic networks, and project milestones.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress and identify delays and critical activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare look-ahead schedules and short-term execution plans.
- Identify the critical path and recommend corrective actions for schedule slippage.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and Site teams.
- Collect progress updates from site teams and update project schedules accordingly.
- Prepare S-curves, progress curves, manpower histograms, and productivity reports.
- Monitor manpower and resource requirements against project plans.
- Analyze project delays and assist in preparing recovery / catch-up schedules.
- Maintain proper documentation of project progress and schedule revisions.
- Assist in preparation of EOT, delay analysis, and time-impact analysis where required.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure project activities are aligned with contractual milestones and deadlines.
- Participate in project review meetings and present schedule/progress status.
- Support project management teams in achieving timely project completion.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Project Planning & Scheduling.
- Hands-on experience in Primavera P6.
- Knowledge of MS Project and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of WBS, CPM, Critical Path, Baseline, Float and Scheduling Logic.
- Experience in progress measurement and schedule updating.
- Knowledge of S-Curve, manpower histogram, productivity tracking and forecasting.
- Ability to analyze project delays and prepare recovery plans.
- Good understanding of engineering/construction project execution.
- Knowledge of EPC / MEP / Civil / Infrastructure project activities will be an advantage.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
Educational Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or related Engineering discipline.
- Certification/training in Primavera P6 / Project Planning will be an added advantage.
Experience
3–10 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
