Job Purpose
The Academic Coordinator Officer (ACO) is responsible for ensuring the effective planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of academic activities across the school. The role supports teachers, students, and school leadership in maintaining high academic standards, curriculum compliance, and a positive learning environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate the implementation of the school's curriculum across assigned grades and subjects.
- Ensure timely preparation and execution of annual plans, lesson plans, and academic calendars.
- Monitor syllabus completion and adherence to academic timelines.
- Coordinate examinations, assessments, projects, and enrichment activities.
- Ensure smooth functioning of daily academic operations.
Teacher Support & Development
- Guide teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback for improvement.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Support new teachers during onboarding and curriculum orientation.
Student Academic Monitoring
- Track student academic performance and identify learning gaps.
- Coordinate remedial and enrichment programs.
- Monitor student attendance and academic progress.
- Support interventions for students requiring additional academic assistance.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Review question papers, worksheets, assignments, and assessment materials.
- Ensure standardization and quality of assessments.
- Analyze examination results and prepare performance reports.
- Recommend strategies to improve learning outcomes.
Parent Communication
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address academic concerns raised by parents.
- Communicate student progress and academic expectations effectively.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain academic records, reports, and curriculum documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE/State Board/School academic guidelines.
- Prepare academic reports for school management.
- Support school inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
School Activities
- Coordinate academic events, competitions, exhibitions, and school programs.
- Support interdisciplinary projects and co-curricular initiatives.
- Collaborate with department heads and administrative teams for effective school functioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. mandatory.
- 3–5 years of teaching experience in a recognized school.
- Prior experience in academic coordination will be an added advantage.
