Job Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, performance management, training & development, compensation & benefits, industrial relations, and administration. The HR Manager ensures compliance with labor laws and company policies while maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Selection
- Prepare manpower planning in coordination with department heads.
- Manage recruitment, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors for manpower requirements.
- Ensure timely joining and induction of new employees.
2. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Maintain healthy employee relations and workplace discipline.
- Coordinate with contractors and union representatives (if applicable).
- Conduct domestic inquiries and issue warning letters, show-cause notices, and disciplinary actions.
3. Payroll & Attendance
- Verify attendance, leave, overtime, and shift records.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing.
- Ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Manage full and final settlements.
4. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Factories Act
- Labour Codes/State Labour Laws
- EPF
- ESIC
- Bonus Act
- Gratuity Act
- Minimum Wages Act
- Contract Labour Act
- Payment of Wages Act
- Payment of Bonus Act
- Coordinate statutory inspections and audits.
5. Performance Management
- Implement KPI/KRA systems.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals.
- Recommend promotions, increments, and rewards.
6. Training & Development
- Identify training needs.
- Organize induction and skill development programs.
- Maintain training records and effectiveness reports.
7. Compensation & Benefits
- Administer salary structures and employee benefits.
- Monitor insurance, mediclaim, and welfare schemes.
- Benchmark compensation with industry standards.
8. HR Administration
- Maintain employee personnel files.
- Manage HRMS records and employee database.
- Prepare MIS reports and HR dashboards.
- Handle HR documentation and record keeping.
9. Policy Development
- Develop and implement HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with company rules and procedures.
- Communicate policy updates to employees.
10. Employee Engagement
- Organize employee welfare activities.
- Conduct engagement programs and celebrations.
- Improve employee satisfaction and retention.
Required Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or MSW (HR)
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- HR certifications are an added advantage
Experience
- 8–12 years of HR experience
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, engineering, or industrial plants preferred
