Job Title: Global Building Performance System EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Building Performance System Engineer to lead our intelligent building initiatives across our global portfolio. This role will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and optimization of smart building technologies, with a focus on alarm and fault sanitization, energy study, and analytics in facility management setups.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a global strategy for intelligent/Smart building systems across the organization's facilities.
Lead the alarm and fault sanitization process, ensuring efficient and accurate identification, classification, and resolution of building system alerts.
Conduct comprehensive energy studies to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and sustainability across facilities.
Utilize advanced analytics to optimize building performance, energy consumption, and occupant comfort.
Collaborate with facility management teams to integrate intelligent building solutions into existing operations and maintenance processes.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot building automation network infrastructure, including BACnet (IP, MS/TP, Ethernet), Modbus (TCP/IP, RTU), LonWorks, and other field-level protocols.
Ensure network segmentation, security, and interoperability across diverse building systems and protocols.
Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance building intelligence and performance.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of intelligent building initiatives.
Create and deliver regular reports on program progress, energy savings, and operational improvements to senior management.
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards across global operations.
Lead cross-functional teams to implement and maintain intelligent building systems and processes.
Provide training and support to facility management staff on new technologies, networking protocols, and best practices.
Continuously assess and improve the intelligent building program to maximize ROI and operational efficiency.
RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Computer Science, IT/Networking, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in facility management, building automation, or related fields.
Proven expertise in building automation networking protocols including BACnet (BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/Ethernet), Modbus (TCP/IP, RTU), or other field-level communication protocols.
Hands-on experience with Ethernet networking, IP addressing, VLANs, network switches, routers, and building automation system integration.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of building management systems, IoT technologies, and data analytics platforms.
Deep understanding of industrial networking, protocol conversion, and gateway configuration.
Experience with network diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methodologies for building automation systems.
Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives in commercial buildings.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and building management software.
Certifications:
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification preferred, demonstrating proficiency in networking fundamentals, IP connectivity, security fundamentals, and network automation.
Leadership & Management:
Proven track record in project management and program implementation on a global scale.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
Standards & Compliance:
Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO 50001, LEED).
Familiarity with BACnet standards (ASHRAE 135), networking best practices, and cybersecurity protocols for building automation systems.
