Role Description:This is a full-time, remote role for a Unity Game Level Designer. The Game Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating compelling gameplay mechanics, designing engaging game levels, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of developers, artists, and producers to bring ideas to life. The role involves tailoring design solutions for console and mobile platforms and iterating on feedback to improve the overall user experience.
Qualifications:Proficiency in Game Design and Level Design principlesExperience in Game Development processes and workflowsFamiliarity with designing for Console and Mobile Games platformsStrong creative and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and collaboration abilitiesBachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field is a plusPrior experience in the gaming industry is highly desirable
What You’ll Do:Greyboxing & Layouts: Translate gameplay ideas into blockouts to test flow, pacing, and scale using tools like ProBuilder.Environment Design: Transform rough greyboxes into stunning, atmospheric 3D worlds.Gameplay Integration: Collaborate with the team to ensure level layouts seamlessly complement core gameplay mechanics.Optimization: Keep performance smooth by applying smart optimization techniques across your level
What We Are Looking For:Engine Experience: Solid foundational knowledge of Unity.World Building: Proven understanding of Level Design principles and Greyboxing.Tooling: Hands-on experience with ProBuilder inside Unity.3D Skills: Ability to act as a 3D Modeler; proficiency in software like Blender or Maya to create and tweak assets.Eye for Detail: Strong fundamentals in Environment Design (lighting, composition, and mood).Performance Mindset: Basic understanding of Optimization Techniques (draw calls, poly counts, occlusion culling).
Bonus Points: Experience with Visual Scripting or basic C# is a huge plus, though not strictly mandatory!
