Academic Counselor is responsible for guiding students on educational courses, career options, and training programs based on their interests, goals, and eligibility. They play a key role in student admissions, course enrollment, and ensuring learner success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling to students and parents on courses, career paths, and training opportunities
- Handle inquiries via phone, email, walk-ins, and convert them into admissions
- Explain course details, eligibility, fees, duration, and placement prospects clearly
- Maintain student database, follow-up regularly, and support admission targets
- Guide students throughout the enrollment process and post-admission support
- Collaborate with marketing/mobilization teams to ensure quality leads
- Prepare reports on student counseling, conversions, and feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate / Postgraduate (preferably in Psychology, Education, or Management)
- min 1 year of experience in academic counseling, admissions, or customer-facing roles
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills (English + local language)
- Confident in handling calls, emails, and walk-in consultations
- Basic computer skills – MS Office, CRM/ERP systems, email tools
- Motivated, student-friendly, and goal-oriented personality
