Job Summary:
The Logistics Executive will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the transportation and dispatch of finished goods and raw materials. The role involves arranging vehicles, negotiating freight rates, ensuring timely deliveries, tracking shipments, maintaining logistics records, and coordinating with transporters, production, stores, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange suitable vehicles for dispatches based on material quantity and destination.
- Coordinate with transporters and fleet vendors for vehicle availability.
- Ensure vehicles are placed as per dispatch schedules.
- Maintain transporter database and vendor contacts.
- Negotiate transportation rates with transport vendors.
- Obtain competitive quotations and ensure cost-effective freight arrangements.
- Monitor freight expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Compare market rates and maintain rate contracts with transporters.
- Plan daily dispatch schedules in coordination with Production, Stores, and Sales teams.
- Ensure timely movement of finished goods to customers.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- Verify dispatch documents before vehicle movement.
- Track vehicles from dispatch to delivery.
- Monitor transit status and proactively address delays.
- Share real-time shipment updates and current vehicle locations with customers and internal teams.
- Follow up with transporters until Proof of Delivery (POD) is received.
- Prepare and verify e-way bills, invoices, LR copies, and dispatch documents.
- Ensure compliance with transportation and statutory requirements.
- Maintain dispatch records and transporter documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with transport vendors.
- Evaluate transporter performance based on rates, service quality, and delivery timelines.
- Resolve transportation-related issues and claims.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
- Generate reports on freight costs, vehicle utilization, dispatch status, transit delays, and transporter performance.
- Maintain records of dispatches, deliveries, and freight expenses.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Handle delivery-related complaints and arrange corrective actions.
- Monitor On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
- Coordinate inward movement of raw materials from suppliers.
- Assist in inventory movement planning and stock transfers between locations.
- Support supply chain activities to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
