Digital Solution Engineering Manager

We deliver automation, electrification, and digital solutions across process, hybrid, and maritime industries through advanced industrial software, distributed control systems, and analytics technologies that accelerate digital transformation and operational excellence.
In this role, we are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – .NET & Angular to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. You will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade industrial software solutions by leveraging your expertise in .NET, Angular, cloud-native technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
Working as part of a collaborative Agile engineering team, you will design scalable applications, develop microservices-based solutions, integrate industrial automation systems, and collaborate with Product Management, Architects, Quality Engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance software that supports ABB's digital product portfolio.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation – Automation Digital organization in Bangalore, India.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using .NET (C#), ASP.NET Core, Angular, and modern web technologies, while implementing microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and real-time communication solutions for industrial automation platforms.

Develop secure, reliable, and high-performance software by integrating industrial systems including SCADA, MES, OPC UA, MQTT, PLCs, and IIoT platforms, ensuring seamless communication between IT and OT environments.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Quality Engineering, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality solutions using Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native technologies, and engineering best practices.

Drive engineering excellence by mentoring team members, promoting clean architecture, adopting AI-assisted software engineering practices, optimizing application performance, and contributing to continuous improvement, software quality, and innovation initiatives.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

8–12 years of experience in enterprise software development with strong expertise in .NET (C#), ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, and full-stack application development.

Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, Entity Framework, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, microservices architecture, and modern frontend frameworks including Angular, RxJS, and NgRx.

Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/K3s, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native application development using modern DevOps practices.

Good understanding of industrial automation technologies including SCADA, MES, OPC UA, MQTT, PLC integration, and real-time industrial communication systems, with knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Azure Virtual Machines considered an advantage.

Experience implementing secure software development practices, unit testing, performance optimization, OWASP security guidelines, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve developer productivity and software quality.

Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams and drive continuous engineering excellence.
