Job Summary
The Paint Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling all painting, polishing, and finishing activities in the production unit. The role ensures superior surface finish, consistent quality, adherence to production schedules, optimum material utilization, and compliance with safety standards. The supervisor leads the paint shop team while ensuring that every finished product meets RitikaaWood's quality standards and customer specifications. The role typically oversees surface preparation, stain application, PU and melamine coatings, spray operations, drying/curing, and defect control.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day paint shop operations.
- Allocate work among painters, polishers, and helpers.
- Ensure completion of daily production targets.
- Coordinate with Production, QC, and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor workflow to minimize bottlenecks.
Surface Preparation & Finishing
- Ensure proper sanding, putty application, sealing, staining, primer, and top-coat application.
- Supervise PU, Melamine, NC, Polyester, and other wood finishing processes.
- Ensure proper shade matching and finish consistency.
- Monitor gloss, texture, and final appearance.
- Maintain high-quality finishing standards.
Quality Control
- Inspect finished products before dispatch.
- Identify finishing defects such as:
- Orange peel
- Pinholes
- Runs & sags
- Blistering
- Dust particles
- Shade variation
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for inspections and approvals.
Team Management
- Supervise painters, spray operators, and polishers.
- Train new employees on painting techniques and quality standards.
- Monitor attendance and productivity.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings.
- Maintain discipline within the department.
Material Management
- Monitor paint, hardener, thinner, stain, and consumable usage.
- Reduce paint wastage through proper planning.
- Maintain stock records.
- Raise timely material requisitions.
- Ensure correct storage of paints and chemicals.
Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure proper maintenance of:
- Spray guns
- Air compressors
- Paint booths
- Sanding machines
- Buffing machines
- Report maintenance requirements immediately.
- Maintain equipment calibration and cleanliness.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure PPE usage.
- Enforce fire safety procedures.
- Maintain proper ventilation and housekeeping.
- Ensure safe storage of paints and flammable chemicals.
- Follow company safety policies and 5S practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Record paint consumption.
- Track rejection and rework data.
- Maintain manpower and machine utilization records.
- Submit reports to the Production Manager.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
