Key Responsibilities
- Set up VMC machines as per job requirements.
- Load, verify, and run CNC programs.
- Install and align fixtures, jigs, and cutting tools.
- Set tool offsets and work offsets accurately.
- Operate VMC machines to achieve production targets.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments.
- Monitor machining operations and make offset corrections when required.
- Ensure component quality meets specified tolerances.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Report machine breakdowns, tool issues, and quality concerns to supervisors.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow all safety, quality, and 5S requirements.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VMC machine setup and operation.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and GD&T basics.
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Bore gauge
- Height gauge
- Dial indicator
- Understanding of cutting tools, inserts, feeds, and speeds.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, Production, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a VMC Setter or VMC Operator in a machine shop environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with fixture setting and prove-out activities.
- Knowledge of tool life monitoring and optimization.
- Exposure to ISO/ Zed quality systems.

- Adherence to safety and 5S standards.
