Key Responsibilities:
- Database Design and Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Ensure database structures support business needs and application requirements.
- Database Administration:
- Manage and administer MS SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Perform database backup and recovery, including disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and fine-tuning.
- Monitor and analyze database performance metrics to identify and resolve issues.
- Data Integrity and Security:
- Implement and enforce data security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain data integrity through regular audits, checks, and maintenance.
- Backup and Monitoring:
- Implement and manage database backup strategies, ensuring data is protected and recoverable.
- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track database performance, capacity, and health.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions for new applications and features.
- Provide support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate and deliver reports on database performance, utilization, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in database development and administration, specifically with MS SQL Server.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
- Hands-on experience with stored procedures, triggers, views, and database table design.
- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and monitoring tools.
- Performance Tuning: Proven experience in optimizing and fine-tuning SQL queries and database performance.
- Security and Compliance: Understanding of data security best practices and regulatory requirements in the banking industry.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in database management or MS SQL Server are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with other database systems and technologies.
