Job Summary
The Storage Engineer (E2) is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, backup, and disaster recovery environments. The role involves monitoring storage systems, performing provisioning activities, troubleshooting incidents, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of storage resources. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nKey Responsibilities \\r\\n\\r\\nStorage Administration \\r\\n\\r\\nManage and support enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, and Pure Storage. \\r\\n\\r\\nProvision and allocate storage (LUNs, volumes, file systems, shares) based on business requirements. \\r\\n\\r\\nMonitor storage utilization, performance, and availability. \\r\\n\\r\\nPerform routine storage maintenance and upgrades. \\r\\n\\r\\nSAN & NAS Management \\r\\n\\r\\nConfigure and maintain Fibre Channel SAN environments. \\r\\n\\r\\nPerform zoning, masking, and multipathing configurations. \\r\\n\\r\\nSupport NAS file shares and storage access management. \\r\\n\\r\\nTroubleshoot connectivity and performance issues. \\r\\n\\r\\nBackup & Recovery \\r\\n\\r\\nMonitor backup jobs and resolve failures. \\r\\n\\r\\nPerform data restoration activities as per business requirements. \\r\\n\\r\\nSupport disaster recovery replication and testing activities. \\r\\n\\r\\nEnsure backup compliance and retention policies are followed. \\r\\n\\r\\nIncident & Service Request Management \\r\\n\\r\\nHandle storage-related incidents, changes, and service requests. \\r\\n\\r\\nTroubleshoot storage, SAN, and backup issues within defined SLAs. \\r\\n\\r\\nWork with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues. \\r\\n\\r\\nParticipate in root cause analysis for major incidents. \\r\\n\\r\\nCapacity & Performance Management \\r\\n\\r\\nMonitor storage capacity utilization trends. \\r\\n\\r\\nGenerate utilization and health reports. \\r\\n\\r\\nRecommend storage optimization opportunities. \\r\\n\\r\\nAssist in capacity planning activities. \\r\\n\\r\\nDocumentation & Compliance \\r\\n\\r\\nMaintain operational documents, SOPs, and runbooks. \\r\\n\\r\\nUpdate asset and configuration records. \\r\\n\\r\\nSupport audit and compliance requirements. \\r\\n\\r\\nFollow change management and security procedures. \\r\\n\\r\\nAutomation & Process Improvement \\r\\n\\r\\nAssist in scripting and automation tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting. \\r\\n\\r\\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nRequired Technical Skills \\r\\n\\r\\nStorage Technologies \\r\\n\\r\\nDell EMC Unity, VNX, PowerStore (Preferred) \\r\\n\\r\\nNetApp Storage \\r\\n\\r\\nHPE 3PAR/Nimble \\r\\n\\r\\nIBM Storage Systems \\r\\n\\r\\nPure Storage (Basic Knowledge) \\r\\n\\r\\nSAN Technologies \\r\\n\\r\\nFibre Channel SAN \\r\\n\\r\\nCisco MDS Switches \\r\\n\\r\\nBrocade Switches \\r\\n\\r\\nStorage Zoning and Masking \\r\\n\\r\\nBackup Solutions \\r\\n\\r\\nVeritas NetBackup \\r\\n\\r\\nVeeam Backup & Replication \\r\\n\\r\\nCommvault \\r\\n\\r\\nDell EMC Avamar (Preferred) \\r\\n\\r\\nOperating Systems \\r\\n\\r\\nWindows Server \\r\\n\\r\\nLinux (RHEL/CentOS/SUSE) \\r\\n\\r\\nCloud Storage (Preferred)
