About the Role
As a Advance Engineer, you will be responsible for Developing, Unit Testing, Component Testing, Prepare Design Documents, Review, Bug fixing, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders of HARMAN.
What You Will Do
- Android native Framework and Native development and customizations, In-vehicle/automotive Infotainment Platforms
- Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and Java/Kotlin, with strong knowledge of the Java Native Interface (JNI) to bridge native and framework layers.
AOSP & Architecture: In-depth understanding of Android architecture, including System Services, Audio, Camera, Connectivity (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), and Graphics stacks
System Programming: Deep experience with Binder IPC, AIDL (Android Interface Definition Language), and Service Managers
HAL Development: Hands-on experience creating or modifying Hardware Abstraction Layers, Treble/HIDL, and interfacing directly with Linux kernel drivers.
Build Systems & Toolchains: Familiarity with the Android Build System (Soong/Kati), Makefiles, and tools like Yocto, especially when dealing with Board Support Packages (BSP)
Testing & Debugging: Proficiency in AOSP testing suites like CTS (Compatibility Test Suite), VTS (Vendor Test Suite), and performance profiling with Systrace/Perfettognition.
What You Need to Be Successful
- 5-8 years of experience on embedded systems, with focus on Android Framework and Native development. Proficient of using Android Automotive Development, Test tools(Git/Gerrit, Gitlab, Jenkins, EA, Android Studio, VS code, CAN, Diaglyzer, CANoe, Valgrind, GTEST, Gmock, JUNIT, Jacoco, Coverity, etc)
- Strong Java/kotlin, C++ programming skills experience.
- Understanding of Android Boot Sequence and various Framework module architecture.
- Proficient in Android System concepts.
- Should have experience on Android development and debugging robust systems
- Proficient in multi threaded programming and middleware solution development on Android environment. Strong in fundamentals of IPC and OS concepts.
- Good experience in Android internals
- System level debugging
- Experience Binder framework and networking framework
- Excellent in C++, design patterns, Android SDK, Android NDK, Java is added advantage
- Experience on Android HIDL interfaces implementation and customizations
- Android CTS and VTS debugging and issue fixing
- Interface with Various Domains within Android Product Line to achieve Stability metrics.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Prior Android Automotive experience preferably in Cockpit(Infotainment Domain)

Prior Experience of working with Tier1- Automotive Supplier, OEMs.
