Job Description (Service of CHA, Freight Forwarding, Transportation & Packaging)
The Export & Import Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the exportation process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective shipment of goods to international markets. The role involves coordinating with various departments, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth and efficient export operations.
The Export Shipping Manager also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and resolving any issues related to shipping and logistics.
Responsibilities:
1. Export Logistics Management: Coordinate with clients to Plan and manage the export shipping process, to ensure timely shipment of goods. Arrange transportation and select appropriate shipping methods (air, sea, rail, trucking, etc.) based on cost, time, and destination requirements. Collaborate with shipping lines and carriers to negotiate shipping rates and monitor service levels.
2. Customs Compliance: Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, export restrictions, and documentation requirements for different countries. Prepare and review export documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, to ensure compliance with customs and legal requirements. Facilitate customs clearance processes to avoid delays and ensure smooth export operations.
3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to shipping, including insurance coverage for international shipments. Proactively address any issues that may arise during transportation or at customs checkpoints.
4. Communication and Coordination: Liaise with internal teams (production, sales, finance, etc.) to coordinate shipping schedules and ensure timely delivery. Communicate with customers and distributors regarding shipment details, tracking information, and delivery updates.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control: Monitor and control shipping costs to optimize expenses while maintaining service quality. Analyze shipping data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
6. Performance Metrics Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to export shipping, such as on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, and customs compliance. Provide regular reports and updates to management on export logistics performance.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Proven experience in export shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding, preferably in a
managerial capacity.
3. Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and export
documentation.
4. Familiarity with shipping software and systems used for tracking and managing export
shipments.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams,
customers, and shipping partners.
6. Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address shipping-related challenges.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
9. Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
