A sheet metal production manager oversees the end-to-end fabrication and stamping processes. They are responsible for driving production efficiency, managing shop-floor operations, enforcing quality and safety protocols, and leading the team to meet production goals. Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Scheduling: Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules based on customer requirements, equipment capacity, and material availability.
- Process Oversight: Direct fabrication and stamping operations including CNC laser cutting, turret punching, bending, shearing, welding, and assembly.
- Quality Control: Enforce strict adherence to engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, IATF), ensuring minimal scrap, rework, and defect rates.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee machinery utilization and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime for critical presses and fabrication tools.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate floor supervisors and operators; manage shift scheduling and labor productivity.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to optimize cycle times, tact times, and material waste.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 10–15+ years in sheet metal fabrication, heavy fabrication, or press parts manufacturing (often required by Tier-1 automotive or appliance suppliers).
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret engineering drawings, and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Software: Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, CAD/CAM systems, and production reporting.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
