Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Experience preferably in the procurement of engineering equipment, materials and goods or plant operations/ maintenance with responsibilities of working with equipment, spare specifications.
He/she will function as team lead for a team of about 6 procurement and logistics personnel. Responsible for ensuring timely sourcing and submission of multiple competitive quotes per RFQ through active follow-up and team coordination.
Ability to analyze material specifications and drawings to understand key procurement requirements. Obtain the best prices amongst various vendors to make sound purchasing decisions. Demonstrated expertise in negotiating contracts, quotations, and procurement terms with manufacturers and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and lead time.
Skilled in identifying, analyzing, and managing domestic and international vendors to meet company objectives in cost, delivery, and performance. Oversee shipments from collection to delivery, ensuring compliance with timelines and INCOTERMS while optimizing transportation costs and negotiating with freight forwarders to meet company and client requirements. Create monthly performance reviews and reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mechanical engineering from a reputed institution with a sound academic background. Experience in the Oil and gas industry procurement/ maintenance/ operations would be an added advantage. Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
High proficiency in MS Office, Internet and use of emerging AI tools for procurement & Supply chain. An understanding of business operations and processes is important to the work. Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
Location: We are seeking a suitable candidate with the above profile preferably based in a Tier 2/Tier 3 Indian city. The job entails remote working from home.
