Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Procurement Engineer to support strategic sourcing, price discovery, vendor development, and procurement excellence across Design & Build Industrial, Commercial, Infrastructure, Telecom, Solar, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Communication projects.
The role requires strong analytical capabilities, commercial acumen, understanding of commodity markets, global sourcing practices, and end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. The candidate will be responsible for driving procurement efficiency, achieving cost savings, strengthening vendor partnerships, and ensuring timely material availability for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Price Discovery
- Conduct market intelligence and price discovery for major project materials and services.
- Benchmark prices across multiple suppliers and regions.
- Develop sourcing strategies for electrical, civil, mechanical, HVAC, firefighting, ELV, communication, and industrial equipment packages.
- Identify alternative sources and substitute products to improve competitiveness.
- Prepare detailed techno-commercial comparisons and procurement recommendations.
Commodity & Metal Market Analysis
- Track commodity trends and indices including:
- Copper
- Aluminium
- Steel
- Zinc
- Nickel
- Stainless Steel
- Monitor global metal exchanges and commodity markets.
- Analyze pricing trends and provide procurement strategies to minimize exposure to market volatility.
- Support budgeting and estimation teams with commodity forecasts.
Global Sourcing & Vendor Development
- Identify and evaluate domestic and international suppliers.
- Develop sourcing channels from India, China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and other strategic markets.
- Conduct supplier qualification and capability assessments.
- Build and maintain a strong vendor database.
- Drive supplier negotiations for commercial and contractual optimization.
Cost Saving & Value Engineering
- Identify cost optimization opportunities through:
- Strategic sourcing
- Vendor consolidation
- Value engineering
- Alternative materials
- Long-term rate agreements
- Track and report annual procurement savings.
- Support project teams in achieving targeted margins.
Procurement Operations (P2P)
- Manage the complete Procure-to-Pay process:
- RFQ/RFP issuance
- Bid evaluation
- Negotiation
- Purchase Order release
- Expediting
- Delivery coordination
- Invoice reconciliation
- Vendor payment follow-up
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and approval workflows.
Vendor Relationship Management
- Manage supplier performance metrics.
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews.
- Resolve supply chain and commercial issues.
- Develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Cross-Functional Coordination
