The Delivery Manager is accountable for end-to-end delivery execution and people leadership for a cross-functional POD consisting of software engineers, quality engineers, and related technical contributors. This role owns delivery predictability, team health, execution quality, operational excellence, and talent development while partnering closely with Product Management and Architecture. The Delivery Manager ensures teams consistently deliver high-quality software aligned to business priorities, engineering standards, and customer outcomes.
Lead a cross-functional delivery POD with accountability for delivery execution, engineering quality, operational stability, and team performance.
Manage and develop engineers, quality engineers, and other technical contributors through coaching, feedback, career development, and performance management.
Own sprint execution, delivery predictability, release readiness, and dependency management across the POD.
Partner with Product Management to translate roadmap priorities into executable delivery plans.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, testing strategies, automation adoption, and release quality.
Ensure operational excellence through monitoring of delivery KPIs including throughput, defect escape rate, cycle time, reliability, and team health metrics.
Identify and remove organizational, technical, and process impediments impacting delivery velocity or quality.
Promote accountability, collaboration, and ownership within the POD.
Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and workforce planning activities.
Collaborate with peer delivery leaders to standardize delivery practices and improve cross-team coordination.
Champion adoption of AI-assisted engineering and quality tools to improve developer productivity, test automation, delivery velocity, and operational efficiency.
Ensure teams effectively leverage AI capabilities within development workflows while maintaining engineering standards, security, compliance, and code quality.
7+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, or technical delivery leadership.
3+ years of people leadership experience managing cross-functional technical teams.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery models, SDLC practices, CI/CD, quality engineering, and release management.
Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies, capacity planning, and operational metrics.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineers and QA professionals within a unified delivery model.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience operating in SaaS or healthcare technology environments preferred.
