As a Product Owner within the Mortgage AI/ML Team, you drive the end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled features across the mortgage lifecycle.
You partner with leadership, operations, compliance, and technology to ensure requirements align with strategic objectives and regulatory standards.
You own the product backlog, prioritize impactful use cases, and translate business needs into high-quality user stories for implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
-
Partner with mortgage leadership, operations, compliance, risk, and technology to elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and regulatory obligations.
-
Own and continuously refine the product backlog, establishing clear priorities based on customer impact, risk reduction, and operational efficiency while actively managing scope, dependencies, and trade-offs.
-
Identify, size, and prioritize AI/ML/GenAI use cases across the mortgage lifecycle, aligning them to measurable business outcomes such as reduced cycle time and improved customer experience.
-
Define AI-enabled feature requirements, including data needs, training and inference dependencies, prompt and context inputs, human-in-the-loop workflows, fallbacks, and regulatory guardrails.
-
Translate requirements into high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clarity, testability, and readiness for implementation; define Definition of Ready/Done standards with delivery teams.
-
Lead story mapping, process modeling, and end-to-end workflow design across key mortgage functions to ensure seamless delivery.
-
Drive data and integration requirements for mortgage platforms, including LOS, PPE, document/eClose, servicing systems, customer portals, workflow/orchestration, and downstream reporting/analytics, ensuring data lineage and control points.
-
Collaborate with data engineering teams to deliver AI capabilities into production, including deployment planning, monitoring, retraining triggers, model/version management, incident response, and rollback strategies.
-
Establish AI evaluation and acceptance criteria that account for probabilistic outputs, including quality thresholds, drift detection, bias and fair lending risk, and explainability expectations.
-
Represent end users throughout solution design, sprint execution, and release readiness; coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), triage defects, validate outcomes, and ensure operational readiness.
-
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and training to drive adoption, standardize processes, and enhance business and technology understanding of new capabilities.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

-
Self-starter with high ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
-
Deep end-to-end US mortgage expertise spanning origination, underwriting, closing/funding.
-
Strong understanding of US mortgage products.
-
Working knowledge of key US mortgage regulations and control expectations, with the ability to operationalize them into product requirements (e.g., TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, SAFE Act, AML/BSA considerations, state-specific requirements).
-
Experience with GenAI and LLM-powered workflow augmentation in enterprise settings (e.g., summarization, classification, search, chat, document understanding, and knowledge retrieval) with appropriate business and operational controls.

Understanding of responsible AI practices in regulated lending contexts, including bias and fair lending risk considerations, privacy and security expectations, governance, auditability, and explainability requirements where applicable.
