Position Overview
We are looking for a highly creative and experienced Senior Fashion Designer to lead the design and development of our couture collections. The ideal candidate has a strong design aesthetic, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of luxury craftsmanship. This role involves conceptualizing seasonal collections, designing bespoke client pieces, collaborating with artisans, and overseeing the creative process from concept to final garment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original Indian and Western couture collections aligned with the brand's creative vision.
- Create detailed sketches, mood boards, fabric stories, embroidery concepts, and technical drawings.
- Lead the design and development of bridal, occasion wear, and bespoke couture pieces.
- Collaborate closely with pattern makers, master tailors, and embroidery artisans to ensure flawless execution.
- Research global fashion trends, couture techniques, textiles, color palettes, and silhouettes while maintaining the brand's unique identity.
- Source luxury fabrics, trims, embellishments, and accessories.
- Oversee garment fittings, design corrections, and final approvals.
- Guide and mentor junior designers and interns.
- Ensure each garment meets the highest standards of luxury craftsmanship and fit.
- Work closely with clients on custom couture orders, translating their vision into exceptional designs.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of collections and bespoke orders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from a recognized institute (NIFT, Pearl Academy, or equivalent preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in luxury fashion, bridal couture, or premium designer labels.
- Strong portfolio showcasing Indian and Western couture collections.
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction, draping, pattern development, and couture finishing.
- Deep understanding of hand embroidery techniques including zardozi, aari, sequins, beadwork, appliqué, and surface embellishments.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software.
- Strong knowledge of luxury textiles and couture production processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing bespoke bridal couture.
- Strong understanding of international luxury fashion trends.
- Ability to conceptualize complete collections from inspiration through execution.
- Experience managing design teams and coordinating with production units.
- Strong client-facing and styling skills.
