Position : Welding Engineer
No. of position : 1
Qualification : Four-year engineering degree in Mechanical/Metallurgy as a minimum.
Experience:
12 to 16 Yrs. of experience in Welding technology, Welding metallurgy and welding activities in Oil and Gas, refineries, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers projects with proven track record.
Key Skills & Experience Required :
- Provide Metallurgy/material selection, failure/ root cause analysis, condition assessment, and destructive and non-destructive examination procedures.
- Sound working knowledge of ASTM ASME, API, NACE, AWS Codes and Standards.
- Requires working/ applied knowledge of standard industry recognized non-destructive
examination techniques/ methods (MT (wet and dry), PT, RT, UT, Hardness Testing, etc.).
- Hands on experience in review of Vendor documents like Weld Plans, welding procedures specifications (WPS), procedure qualification record(PQR) and welder qualification test(WQT), Welding consumable reports, heat treatment procedures, Charpy impact test procedure, NDE procedures, and all welding related documents.
- Perform analysis and metallurgical investigations of internal and external quality defects, base metal/ weld metal failure analysis, etc.
- Review metallurgical testing plans and review test results and investigation of test failures.
- Responsible for completing failure analysis reports detailing the evaluation of the history of the failed component, causes of the failure, and recommended corrective actions and implementation strategies.
- Use technical expertise to identify best quality practices and process improvements.
- Experience with metallurgical (laboratory) testing and procedures.
- Utilization of statistical analysis for data driven problem solving.
