Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or related field
- Manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.)
- Drawings and tolerances (GD&T preferred)
- Quality standards (ISO, Six Sigma basics)
- Handling a production line or shift
- Managing operators/workers
- Meeting daily production targets
- Interpret engineering drawings
- CNC program specially for VMC and Copper bending machines
- Monitor process parameters
- Identify defects and root causes
- Familiar with tools like:
- 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing
- Basic ERP/MIS systems
- Can handle a team size of 10–20 operators
- Assign tasks and balance workload
- Resolve conflicts on the shop floor
- Motivate team under pressure
- Strong communication (especially between management and workers)
- Should apply structured thinking like:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- 5 Why / Fishbone diagram
- Quick decision-making during:
- Machine breakdowns
- Quality issues
- Manpower shortages
- Understanding of:
- Daily production planning
- Shift scheduling
- Material availability coordination
- Ability to meet: Targets (Qty, Quality, Delivery)
- Ensures adherence to:
- Approved drawings/specifications
- SOPs and work instructions
- Basic knowledge of:
- In-process inspection
- Rejection control
- Safety standards
- PPE usage
- Safe working practices
- Incident reporting
