Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Engineer - AI Agents to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems that power AI-driven applications, including LLM-based solutions and agentic AI workflows. You will work closely with our founders, product teams, and customers to deliver high-impact solutions that push the boundaries of applied AI.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable backend systems using Python frameworks such as Django and FastAPI.
- Build and optimize LLM-based applications, including voice models, prompt workflows, tool calling, and agent orchestration.
- Architect and implement APIs, distributed systems, queues, and background jobs to ensure production reliability.
- Work with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) to manage data effectively.
- Leverage AWS services and cloud-native architecture to deploy and maintain robust applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Solve complex problems with a high degree of ownership and drive projects from concept to production.
- Ensure reliability, security, and maintainability while building fast-paced solutions.
- Continuously improve systems and workflows based on feedback and evolving requirements.

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in backend-heavy roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building scalable backend applications.
- Prior experience developing LLM-based applications; familiarity with AI agents is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of system design, APIs, distributed systems, and production reliability.
- Working knowledge of LLMs, voice models, prompt workflows, tool calling, and agent orchestration.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- High ownership mindset with a track record of driving projects to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar LLM ecosystems.
- Familiarity with voice AI workflows using models/APIs like ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Twilio, OpenAI Realtime, or similar.
- Knowledge of MCP servers, tool calling, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, evals, or agent memory.
- Background in sales-tech, marketing-tech, CRM, lead qualification, or revenue automation.
- Experience working in early-stage or growth-stage startups.
