Knitting QC Job Responsibilities
- Inspect knitted fabric during and after production.
- Check for defects such as:
- Holes
- Needle lines
- Barre marks
- Oil stains
- Yarn contamination
- Missing stitches
- Lycra defects
- GSM variation
- Verify fabric measurements, including:
- Width
- GSM (grams per square meter)
- Stitch density (CPI/WPI)
- Ensure fabric color, texture, and appearance meet customer specifications.
- Monitor knitting machines and report quality issues to the knitting supervisor.
- Record inspection results and prepare quality reports.
- Segregate defective fabric and ensure proper identification.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and laboratory teams to resolve quality problems.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain inspection records and support internal and customer audits.
- Help reduce fabric defects through continuous process improvement.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of knitted fabric defects and quality standards.
- Understanding of knitting machines and knitting processes.
- Ability to use measuring tools (GSM cutter, weighing balance, measuring tape, etc.).
- Good observation and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining QC records.
- Communication and teamwork skills.
