Summary of the role: The R2R Associate will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This includes maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring all financial records align with company policies and international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP). The position is a vital part of our global Finance Transformation initiative and will contribute to process standardization, automation, and improvements within the R2R function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by posting and reconciling entries in compliance with the Group’s policies and accounting standards.
Fixed Assets: Identify & capitalize fixed assets, maintain fixed assets register along with relevant documentation of the additions. Prepare and deliver timely and accurate management reporting related to Fixed assets. Run depreciation schedules.
Prepayment: Ensure that prepayment amortizations are accounted for in timely and accurate manner. Maintain prepayment schedules.
Payroll Accounting: Posting payroll journals on monthly basis. Maintaining reconciliation of all payroll clearing accounts and ensuring the balances reflected are true & correct.
Month-End Close: Execute month-end (and year-end) close processes, including: Preparation of journal entries; Preparation of accruals and deferrals schedules; Completion of balance sheet and all other reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements, P&L reports, balance sheets and other management reports; Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and applicable international accounting standards, in particular IFRS.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with various stakeholders including FP&A, Financial Controllers, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams to support business objectives and provide financial insights.
Automation and System Improvements: Partner with IT and Finance Transformation teams to leverage technology (ERP, AP Automation etc.) for process improvement, ensuring standardized reporting and faster close cycles.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Qualified or Semi Qualified Accountant - CA/CPA or equivalent qualification. Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) - (with relevant experience as mentioned below)
EXPERIENCE
0 to 1 year (Qualified) or 2 to 4 years (Semi qualified) or 3 to 6 years (B. Com) of experience in finance domain with clear understanding of accounting concepts, ideally within a global environment. Previous experience in Record to Report (R2R) process will be added advantage. Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., financial services, asset management) and offshored or outsourced finance team is an advantage.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) for financial analysis. Knowledge of ERP systems (Sage Intacct highly preferred) and financial reporting tools. Communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
