Key Responsibilities Business Development & Strategy Develop and execute business strategies for EHV Substation EPC projects (220kV 400kV). Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with utilities, government organizations, renewable energy developers, transmission companies, and private sector clients. Develop strategic partnerships to expand the company's market presence. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, upcoming transmission projects, and business opportunities. Drive annual business plans, revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion. Tendering & Bid Management Lead end-to-end tendering activities for EHV Substation EPC projects. Review and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, contractual terms, and commercial conditions. Define bid strategy, pricing strategy, and commercial approach to maximize bid competitiveness. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Projects, Estimation, Finance, Legal, and Business Development teams for timely bid preparation. Ensure preparation of technically compliant and commercially competitive bids. Lead technical and commercial bid reviews before submission. Ensure timely submission of tenders while maintaining quality and compliance. Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and clarification meetings. Maintain a pipeline/database of upcoming tenders, bidding opportunities, and strategic prospects. Commercial & Contract Management Lead pre-bid and post-bid discussions. Negotiate contracts, commercial terms, pricing, and project conditions with clients. Evaluate project risks and prepare bid qualifications and commercial deviations wherever required. Support contract finalization and successful project acquisition. Ensure compliance with EPC contracts and commercial obligations. Estimation & Cost Management Review project estimation, costing, and pricing strategy. Validate BOQs, cost estimates, vendor quotations, and commercial assumptions. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for techno-commercial quotations. Ensure optimum costing while maintaining profitability and competitiveness. Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination Work closely with Engineering, Tendering, Procurement, Projects, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Business Development and Tendering team. Establish business processes, bidding standards, and performance metrics. Drive collaboration across departments to ensure successful project acquisition and execution. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (MBA preferred). 3 to 15 years of experience in EPC, Power Transmission, or EHV Substation business. Proven experience in business development and project acquisition for 220kV–400kV Substation EPC projects. Hands-on experience in end-to-end tendering, estimation, bid management, and commercial negotiations. Strong knowledge of AIS and GIS Substations. Experience in reviewing BOQs, technical specifications, cost estimation, and commercial bid evaluation. Strong understanding of EPC contracts, commercial terms, risk assessment, and tendering processes. Familiarity with PGCIL, STUs, DISCOMs, NTPC, Railways, Renewable Energy, and Transmission sector tenders. Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
