1. Position Overview
The Associate Manager – Sales will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, and achieving revenue targets for stainless steel products such as coils, sheets, pipes, tubes, flats, and other value-added items. The role requires strong technical knowledge of stainless steel grades, market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve assigned revenue and volume targets.
- Identify new business opportunities in OEMs, fabricators, dealers, and project segments.
- Expand customer base in the stainless steel market (200/300/400 series).
- Generate leads through field visits, market research, and industry networking.
B. Customer Relationship Management
- Manage existing customers and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Address customer queries, provide technical support, and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Conduct regular customer visits for relationship building and feedback collection.
C. Pricing & Negotiations
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts according to company guidelines.
- Prepare sales offers, quotations, and proposals based on market dynamics.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market positioning.
D. Technical & Product Knowledge
- Understand stainless steel grades, specifications, surface finishes, and applications.
- Provide technical guidance to customers on product selection.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, and R&D for customer-specific requirements.
E. Order Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams for production planning, dispatch, and logistics.
- Ensure timely delivery, documentation, and payment collection.
- Track sales orders, forecast demand, and maintain sales reports.
F. Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, demand fluctuations, and raw material price movements.
- Analyze competitor activity and suggest strategic improvements.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of stainless steel grades and applications (e.g., 304, 316, 409, 430).
- Knowledge of rolling mills, service centers, and fabrication processes.
- Experience in B2B industrial sales.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, Presentation and negotiation skills.
- Customer-centric mindset and strong relationship-building ability.
- Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- SAP Knowledge
4. Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Engineering (preferred). MBA in Sales/Marketing is an advantage.
- Experience: 4–8 years of industrial sales experience, ideally in the Stainless Steel, Metals, or Manufacturing sector.
- Industry Exposure: Stainless steel mills, distributors, service centers, OEMs, fabrication units, EPC projects, etc.
