Role Overview
The Electronics Production Technician will support medical device assembly, PCB rework, testing support, and coordination with external EMS partners. While bulk PCB assembly is outsourced, this role is critical for rework, inspection, integration, and final device build at CDL.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring strong soldering and assembly skills.
Key Responsibilities
Device Assembly & Integration
- Perform electronic device assembly, wiring, connector mating, and mechanical sub-assembly
- Integrate PCBs received from EMS into final devices
- Support final assembly, enclosure fitment, and labeling
PCB Rework & Technical Support
- Carry out PCB rework and component replacement, including:
- SMT components (0201, 0402, fine-pitch ICs)
- Through-Hole (THT) components
- Use soldering iron and hot-air rework station
- Identify and correct solder defects such as bridges, dry joints, lifted pads, polarity issues
EMS & Manufacturing Support
- Support PCB assembly coordination with external EMS partners
- Perform incoming inspection of PCBs from EMS
- Assist in debugging, feedback, and closure of EMS quality issues
- Support pilot builds and NPI activities
Testing, Quality & Documentation
- Support functional testing and quality checks
- Perform visual inspection as per defined checklists
- Maintain basic production and traceability records
- Follow ESD, safety, and controlled manufacturing practices
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in electronics assembly and PCB rework
- Ability to handle SMT components down to 0201 / 0402
- Experience with THT soldering and rework
- Familiarity with ESD precautions
- Ability to read basic schematics, BOMs, and work instructions
- High attention to detail and strong process discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics or equivalent
- 3–4 years of practical hands-on experience
- Exposure to EMS interaction, inspection, or NPI builds is a strong plus
