A Sewing Machine Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sewing machines used in garment factories, tailoring units, or workshops. The role ensures machines operate efficiently to avoid production delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in sewing machines
- Perform routine maintenance (cleaning, oiling, replacing worn parts)
- Set up and calibrate machines for different stitching operations
- Replace defective parts such as needles, belts, motors, gears, and bobbin systems
- Ensure machines run smoothly with minimal downtime
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Assist operators in resolving minor machine issues
- Follow safety standards and workplace protocols
