We are looking for a highly creative and insight-driven Script Writer to join our content team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting engaging, high-retention scripts for short-form content across platforms like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. You will play a key role in turning ideas into compelling stories that capture attention within seconds and keep audiences hooked till the end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write scroll-stopping hooks that instantly capture audience attention.
- At Praper, you’ll break down complex ideas into tight hooks and high-retention scripts that work on short-form platforms.
- Develop scripts that are visually driven and easy for editors and designers to execute.
- Write in a way that sounds effortless but is designed to improve retention and watch time.
- Stay in sync with video editors, and graphic designers so the final output feels aligned and performs well.
- Collaborate with the content team across ideation, production and review stages.
- Keep up with trends, but shape them in a way that fits the content style at Praper.
- Staying on top of what's working on the platforms - formats, styles, topics & patterns.
- Iterate quickly on scripts using performance insights and feedback, delivering multiple variations when needed.
- Jump into content strategy conversations and bring your own perspective to the table.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in content writing, scriptwriting, or short-form video content.
- Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and short-form storytelling techniques.
- Proven ability to write compelling hooks and high-retention scripts.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to turn insights into engaging narratives.
- Strong understanding of content creators, video production workflows, and digital media trends.
- Versatility in writing tone — from casual, witty, and Gen Z-focused to informative and professional.
- Strong communication skills and openness to feedback with quick turnaround on revisions.
