Role: Platform Engineer - AWS & Databricks
Experience: 5+ Years
As a Platform Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for designing, provisioning, automating, and managing cloud infrastructure and data platforms on AWS and Databricks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), modern DevOps practices, and cloud governance frameworks. The candidate should work closely with data engineering, analytics, security, and business teams to deliver reliable platform solutions.
Technical Skills
Design, develop, and manage cloud platform infrastructure on AWS and Databricks.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
Working knowledge of AWS services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, EC2, KMS, Security Groups, Secrets Manager, VPC, API Gateway, Route53, Transfer Family and workflow orchestration services (MWAA).
Experience provisioning and managing Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, clusters, SQL Warehouses, and platform governance controls.
Strong programming and automation skills using Python.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows.
Knowledge of security best practices including IAM, encryption, networking, Private Link, secrets management, and access controls.
Experience supporting platform reliability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience implementing governance, compliance, and audit controls in cloud environments.
Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance requirements and security-focused operational practices.
Ability to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.
Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs), Databricks Workflows, and platform migration initiatives.
Experience with monitoring, observability, and cost optimization frameworks.
Knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and modern data platform architectures.
Exposure to AI/ML platform enablement and API integrations.
Experience working in multi-account AWS environments.
Understanding of cloud cost governance practices.
Experience collaborating with on-shore teams, architects, analysts, and data engineering teams.
Education and Experience
Bachelor s Degree or Master s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated individual contributor with a continuous learning mindset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
