The ETP Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure that wastewater generated from textile manufacturing processes is treated according to environmental regulations and company standards. The operator monitors plant equipment, maintains treatment processes, records operational data, and supports preventive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and control pumps, blowers, agitators, dosing systems, filters, and other treatment equipment.
- Check and maintain optimum chemical dosing for pH correction, coagulation, flocculation, and disinfection.
- Collect wastewater samples and perform routine testing for parameters such as pH, TSS, COD, BOD, and turbidity.
- Record operational data, chemical consumption, flow rates, and equipment readings in daily logbooks.
- Ensure treated water quality complies with pollution control board and environmental standards.
- Report equipment malfunctions and process abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist the maintenance team during preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Handle sludge dewatering, storage, and disposal according to environmental regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the ETP area.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support environmental audits and regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating an ETP, preferably in the textile industry.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
- Understanding of ETP equipment and chemical handling.
- Ability to monitor process parameters and maintain records.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of environmental regulations and workplace safety.
- Ability to work in shifts.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
