The Opportunity
Digit88 is expanding the extended software product engineering team for its partner,a US-based Weather Forecast and Analytics SaaS platform company. Our partner is enhancing their existing SaaS platform to include an AI and LLM-powered weather forecast platform. This is a bleeding edge GenAI platform that helps large users to understand and manage weather forecasts. The candidate would be joining an existing team of product engineers and help us establish an extended product engineering team at Digit88.
Job Profile
Digit88 is looking for a hands-on Python Backend and GenAI engineer with expertise in building and deployment production grade MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers (at least 2 scenarios or use cases) , and build LLM-powered MCP Clients as part of backend engineering. They must be detail-focused, have excellent problem solving skills, and quickly learn new tools & knowledge, along with good Python backend engineering expertise..
You must enjoy learning and building rapidly evolving products/platforms.
To be successful in this role, you should possess

Overall Industry experience 3-5 years

At least 1-2 years of MCP server development.

Excellent understanding of of MCP Client and Server Deployment - Optimizing Context window size, eliminating LLM Hallucinations

AI Agents, bonus points for familiarity with the Google Agent Development Kit

Prompt Engineering - writing queries, managing context

Though this has "AI" in the headline, this will NOT involve training, developing, or fine-tuning any new AI models. This is more implementation-oriented engineering than ML skills.

Good experience as a python backend developer (APIs Development, Microservices, Exception Handling, Logging, Authentication etc.) is a big bonus

Should be able to participate in startups during US EST Timezone, and give an overlap of 3-4 hours in the morning EST hours (up to 12:30am).
Roles and responsibilities

Develop efficient MCP Interface for the existing backend weather APIs

Build and deploy MCP Clients (LLM Powered), integrate with MCP server, and the frontend processing the user queries in natural language.

Optimize and Eliminate LLM Hallucinations

Work with large size backend API responses and optimize the MCP-LLM Context window size and latency

Maintain a high-quality code base. ment.

Work with Cross functional teams to resolve issues in the Modelling tool.
