Job Title: CAD Designer – (Surface Design)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Custom Surface Designer to join our automotive engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality Class-A surfaces and 3D models for bus body structures, including exterior panels, interior trims, and ergonomic layouts. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of automotive aesthetics, manufacturing constraints, and structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Modeling: Create complex 3D surface models for bus exteriors and interiors using tools like CATIA
- Design Integration: Ensure surfacing designs align with the chassis layout, powertrain requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., rollover strength and safety codes).
- Class-A Surfacing: Develop production-ready Class-A surfaces from initial sketches or point cloud data (scan data).
- Collaboration: Work closely with the styling team and structural engineers to balance aesthetic vision with "manufacturability" (DFM)..
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
- Industry Experience: Minimum 1–5 years of experience in bus body design or heavy vehicle automotive surfacing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Design, or a related field.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
