Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in retail operations - Sweets and savouries , food & beverage, sweets and savouries, QSR, or FMCG retail.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing multiple outlets.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Hotel Management, Commerce, or any relevant discipline.
- MBA is an added advantage.
Job Summary
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple sweets, savouries, and snacks retail outlets within the assigned region. The role ensures consistent sales growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, food safety, profitability, inventory control, and people management while maintaining the organization's brand standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Supervise and manage the overall performance of multiple retail outlets.
- Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with company SOPs.
- Monitor daily sales, operational efficiency, and productivity.
- Ensure excellent store presentation, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
- Implement operational improvements to enhance customer experience.
Sales & Business Development
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor outlet-wise sales performance and prepare action plans.
- Increase average billing value and customer footfall.
- Execute promotional campaigns and seasonal sales activities.
- Identify local marketing opportunities to improve revenue.
Customer Service
- Ensure exceptional customer service across all outlets.
- Handle customer escalations and resolve complaints promptly.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvement measures.
- Build long-term customer relationships and brand loyalty.
Team Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate Unit Managers, Supervisors, and outlet staff.
- Monitor manpower planning and staffing requirements.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and support employee development.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and performance-driven work environment.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock availability across all outlets.
- Minimize stock shortages, wastage, and pilferage.
- Ensure proper inventory control and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams for timely replenishment.
Financial Management
- Monitor outlet profitability and operating expenses.
- Review daily sales reports, cash collections, and banking.
- Ensure compliance with billing and cash handling procedures.
- Control operational costs while maintaining service quality.
Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain product quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Monitor shelf life, expiry dates, and storage practices.
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI and company food safety guidelines.
Compliance & Audit
- Conduct periodic operational audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Monitor health, safety, and security standards across outlets.
- Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business reports.
- Analyze KPIs and recommend improvement strategies.
- Present business performance reports to senior management.
- Monitor outlet profitability, inventory, shrinkage, and customer satisfaction metrics.
