The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works at the project site. The role requires ensuring that MEP installations are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project timelines and statutory requirements.
The MEP Engineer will work closely with the Civil, Structural, Architectural, QA/QC, contractors, consultants and vendors to ensure smooth integration of MEP services with the overall project execution.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. MEP Planning & Execution
- Plan and supervise day-to-day MEP activities at the project site.
- Ensure MEP works are executed according to approved project schedules.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of assigned MEP activities.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and resources required for MEP execution.
- Identify potential delays and coordinate corrective actions.
B. Electrical Works
- Supervise electrical installations including HT/LT systems, panels, cables, conduits, wiring, lighting and power distribution.
- Monitor installation of transformers, DG sets, earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Ensure electrical works are executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate electrical testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
C. Plumbing & Sanitary Works
- Supervise water supply, drainage, sewage, storm-water and plumbing installations.
- Monitor installation of pumps, tanks, valves, pipelines and sanitary fixtures.
- Ensure proper testing of plumbing and drainage systems.
- Coordinate with Civil and Architectural teams for concealed and exposed plumbing works.
D. Fire Fighting & Fire Protection
- Supervise fire-fighting system installation, including fire pumps, hydrants, sprinkler systems, fire tanks and related equipment.
- Ensure installation complies with approved drawings and applicable fire safety requirements.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
- Maintain required inspection and testing records.
E. HVAC & Mechanical Systems
- Coordinate HVAC installation including ducting, piping, equipment placement and associated works.
- Monitor installation of ventilation and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate testing, balancing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure proper coordination between HVAC works and architectural/civil requirements.
F. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, specifications and BOQs.
- Ensure site execution is strictly as per approved drawings.
- Identify discrepancies and obtain necessary clarifications before execution.
- Coordinate MEP requirements with Civil, Structural and Architectural drawings.
- Identify and resolve service clashes before execution to minimize rework.
G. Contractor & Vendor Management
- Supervise MEP contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
- Monitor contractor productivity, workmanship and resource deployment.
- Verify work quantities and support measurement and billing verification.
- Ensure contractors follow project schedules, quality requirements and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with contractors and vendors.
H. Quality Control
- Inspect MEP installations at various stages of execution.
- Ensure materials used at site are approved and meet project specifications.
- Coordinate with the QC team for inspections and quality approvals.
- Ensure proper testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Identify defects and ensure timely rectification.
- Minimize rework and material wastage.
I. Project Coordination
- Coordinate MEP activities with Civil, Structural, Architectural and finishing teams.
- Participate in project coordination and progress review meetings.
- Ensure MEP activities do not adversely affect civil and finishing works.
- Coordinate service openings, sleeves, shafts, trenches and embedded items with the Civil team.
- Resolve site-level technical and coordination issues promptly.
J. Material & Cost Control
- Prepare material requirements based on project drawings and execution plans.
- Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of MEP materials.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Verify material specifications and quantities received at site.
- Support cost control and ensure execution within approved budgets.
K. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Prepare and monitor testing and commissioning schedules.
- Ensure all MEP systems are tested and operational before handover.
- Maintain test reports, inspection records and commissioning documents.
- Coordinate preparation of as-built drawings.
- Ensure O&M manuals, warranties and relevant technical documents are collected.
- Support final project handover to the client/facility management team.
L. Safety & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure MEP works comply with applicable safety requirements and statutory standards.
- Coordinate with the Safety team to identify and eliminate MEP-related hazards.
- Ensure proper safety practices during electrical, mechanical and plumbing activities.
- Ensure required statutory inspections and approvals are completed.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions and technical risks to the Project Head.

4. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
- Relevant MEP certification or specialized training will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of building services and MEP construction practices.
5. Experience
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in MEP execution, preferably in residential, commercial, high-rise or real estate construction projects.
- Experience in handling MEP contractors, vendors and site coordination.
- Candidates with experience in end-to-end MEP execution and project handover will be preferred.
6. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and building services.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Knowledge of BOQ, quantity estimation and material requirements.
- Familiarity with relevant Indian standards and statutory requirements.
- Ability to identify service clashes and coordinate solutions.

9. Overall Accountability
The MEP Engineer is accountable for ensuring that all MEP systems are properly planned, coordinated, executed, tested, commissioned and handed over within the approved time, cost, quality and safety parameters of the project.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
