Experience:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in steel structural fabrication and quality engineering roles.
- At least 3-4 years of practical, hands-on experience working in the field on steel erection projects.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) or equivalent diploma.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications specific to steel structures.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla) for structural design and fabrication processes.
- Steel Fabrication Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge of steel fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, and assembly of structural steel components.
- Familiarity with various steel grades and their mechanical properties.
- Quality Assurance:
- In-depth understanding of quality control and assurance methodologies specific to steel fabrication (e.g., AWS standards).
- Experience in developing and implementing quality inspection procedures and protocols for steel structures.
- Field Erection Experience:
- Hands-on experience with the erection of steel structures, including managing onsite activities, safety protocols, and coordinating with field teams.

- Project Management:
- Experience managing steel fabrication and erection projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to steel fabrication and erection (e.g., AISC, OSHA).
- Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to provide clear guidance and training to junior engineers and field technicians.
- Leadership and Teamwork:
- Experience leading teams or projects, with a focus on fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams, including welders, fabricators, and construction personnel.
- Continuous Improvement:

- Certifications (Preferred):
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) are a plus.
- Practical Skills:
- Strong practical skills are essential; candidates should have significant hands-on experience in steel fabrication environments.
- Proficiency in operating fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, welding machines, and CNC machinery.
- Field Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of fieldwork experience specifically in the erection of steel structures, ensuring a strong understanding of real-world challenges and solutions.

- Welding Techniques:
- Proficiency in various welding methods relevant to steel fabrication (MIG, TIG, flux-cored) and ability to perform weld inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Structural Analysis:
- Experience in structural analysis and load calculations to ensure designs meet safety and performance requirements.
- Manufacturing Workflow Optimization:
- Skills in analyzing and optimizing manufacturing workflows specific to steel fabrication to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
- Material Handling:
- Knowledge of safe and efficient material handling practices for heavy steel components in fabrication and erection environments.
- Process Documentation:
- Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation of fabrication and erection processes, including work instructions and inspection reports.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in steel fabrication and erection processes, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Experience with routine maintenance and calibration of fabrication machinery and erection equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

- Ability to conduct cost analysis and budgeting for steel fabrication and erection projects, focusing on materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Collaboration with Design Engineers:
