Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with a strong background in software quality engineering and automated testing within complex Java ecosystems. You will spearhead the quality assurance strategy for our enterprise Java legacy platform, architecting robust test automation frameworks from scratch to validate legacy components while guiding their transition to modern microservices (Java 17/21, Spring Boot).
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Governance: Define and execute comprehensive quality assurance strategies, test plans, test standards, regression strategies, and release-quality gates for monolithic legacy systems and evolving modern services.
- Legacy Testing & Validation: Establish testing strategies for hard-to-test legacy code (JSP, Servlets, Struts, EJB) to ensure zero regression during routine patches and refactoring.
- API & Database: Validation Drive backend validation strategies, including API testing, complex data migration testing, database integrity checks (PostgreSQL/Oracle), and automated REST/SOAP API testing.
· Automation Framework Establishment: Establish the initial QA automation framework and develop the foundation for scalable, maintainable automation coverage across backend services and frontend interfaces.
· CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous validation and enforce automated release-quality gates.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a team of verification engineers, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and mentor junior QA staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of software quality engineering experience, with significant exposure to Java-based enterprise architectures.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- API Expertise: Deep hands-on experience building API/Backend test frameworks (RestAssured, Postman/Newman, Playwright).
- Database & Environment: Strong SQL skills for backend/database validation (Test Containers, Junit, WireMock), experience with Linux environments, and containerized testing (Docker).
- Modernization Exposure: Experience testing legacy-to-cloud migrations, API backward compatibility, and microservices architectures.
Preferred Skills
- Healthcare Domain: Hands-on experience in Healthcare & HIS Systems.
- CI/CD Quality Gates: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to enforce automated quality gates.
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Java (Java 8+) for test automation, TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and build tools.
- Automation Architecture: Design, scale, and maintain end-to-end automated testing frameworks for both backend services and frontend interfaces (using tools like Selenium, Playwright, RestAssured, or Cypress).
- Automation Expertise: Deep hands-on experience building UI automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright)
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Java (Java 8+) for test automation, TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and build tools.
