Job Description
Primary Responsibilities

Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes for assigned Alternative Credit funds and related investment vehicles.
- Review monthly and quarterly NAV packages prepared by third-party administrators, including cash and position reconciliations, capital allocations, management and incentive fee calculations, Investor capital activity and waterfall calculations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures under U.S. GAAP.

Monitor fund liquidity and cash activity, including capital calls, distributions, financing arrangements, and expense payments.
- Review expense accruals and management fee calculations for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with coordination of annual audits and respond to auditor information requests.
- Support preparation and review of investor reporting deliverables and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Prepare and analyze fund and investment-level performance metrics, including IRR, MOIC, and other key performance indicators.
- Review fund governing documents, including LPAs, credit agreements, and other fund documentation to support ongoing compliance with reporting and operational requirements.
- Partner with colleagues across fund accounting, legal, tax, treasury, investor relations, portfolio management, and operations to support business initiatives and resolve issues.
- Investigate accounting or operational exceptions, perform root cause analysis, and support implementation of process improvements and control enhancements.
- Participate in projects focused on operational scalability, automation, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
- Develop expertise in Ares fund structures, investment products, accounting policies, and operational processes.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members when appropriate.
Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification preferred.
- CFA charterholder or candidate a plus.
- Experience supporting private credit, direct lending, CLOs, structured credit, private debt, or other alternative investment products is preferred but not required.
- Experience with U.S. GAAP investment company accounting.
- Experience working with fund administrators and external auditors.
- Experience with closed-end and/or open-end fund structures.
- Experience with Advent Geneva or similar fund accounting platforms.
Technology Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Power BI, Alteryx, or other data and reporting tools a plus
- Advent Geneva experience preferred
- Strong aptitude for learning new systems and leveraging technology to improve processes
