Key Responsibilities
VoIP Infrastructure Management
- Manage, maintain, and optimize FreeSWITCH-based communication systems.
- Configure SIP trunks, gateways, dial plans, and routing logic.
- Monitor platform performance, call quality, latency, and uptime.
- Troubleshoot complex VoIP, SIP, RTP, and network-related issues.
- Implement redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure high availability and scalability of telecom infrastructure.
Telecom Operations
- Manage carrier relationships and routing providers.
- Optimize Least Cost Routing (LCR) and call delivery performance.
- Monitor call completion rates, ASR, ACD, PDD, and quality metrics.
- Analyze telecom traffic patterns and identify optimization opportunities.
- Negotiate and evaluate carrier performance and pricing.
System Automation & AI
- Automate operational tasks and monitoring workflows.
- Use AI tools to improve troubleshooting, reporting, and infrastructure management.
- Develop intelligent monitoring and alerting systems.
- Continuously improve operational efficiency through automation.
Security & Compliance
- Implement VoIP security best practices.
- Protect systems from SIP attacks, fraud, toll fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor security events and respond to incidents.
- Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Evaluate and implement new telecom technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement across communication systems.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing VoIP infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with FreeSWITCH administration and configuration.
- Deep understanding of SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and VoIP technologies.
- Experience with Linux server administration.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, VPNs, Firewalls, and Routing.
- Experience with telecom carriers, SIP trunk providers, and voice routing.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of critical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kamailio, OpenSIPS, Asterisk, FusionPBX, or related platforms.
- Knowledge of Python, PHP, Bash, Lua, JavaScript, or automation scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
- Experience building telecom APIs and integrations.
- Strong understanding of AI tools and automation technologies.
- Experience with call center technologies and large-scale voice deployments.
